Bison Roundup at the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve

Northeast Oklahoma

Once practically extinct, the majestic bison of Oklahoma, now drastically increased in number, are once again able to roam the open plains. These strong and vibrant creatures have long been associated with the American midwestern plains and are great symbols of the splendor of the region. Here, see them rove in all their glory during the Oklahoma Nature Conservancy annual roundup, where they are counted, weighed and their overall health is checked.
